I do not understand 'spunkie's' comment below. A few weeks ago I downloaded the package and it successfully installed missing Texas Instruments mass storage drivers for MMC/SD card slots etc under Windows 8.1 on a 10 y/o Sony Vaio ultraportable which MS's install routine does not have. A better solution than trawling Sony forums etc. It also updated successfully other drivers on that and another more recent Vaio. I saw no advertisements and my pc has MVPS Hosts file plus I run peerblock with modern blocklist if in doubt.

First, I’d suggest you to check for the compatibility of the programs you’re trying to install from the Windows 7 compatibility Center and check if the same is Windows 7 compatible or not.

In the mean time, uninstall the programs completely.
